The University of Greenwich Freshers’ Fair:

It’s that time of year again when I promote tennis within our local university!  Chair of Directors John Ratcliffe and I attended the freshers’ fair at the Avery Hill campus showing off our keepy up skills as we tried to sign up as many students to the Wednesday afternoon tennis coaching sessions on the uni courts.  It was a very productive day with lots of students showing interest.  Same again on Friday at the Greenwich campus!  I hope you like the photo!

Just to confirm the Friday night competitions have resumed and we have had some fantastic competitions so far with the Quorn Family Cup and our latest mini orange competition which saw 6 juniors competing in a fantastic atmosphere.  Congratulations to all junior members who took part and a special mention to our winner Edgar Walker!  Please book into our next competition this Friday asap (emails have been sent out to parents whose child is eligible).

Kent Tennis Open Day – Saturday 21st September 2019:

Calling all members!  Please come along to Oakwood Tennis Club this Saturday 1-5pm to support the latest Kent Open Day.  Some of our Quorn Family Cup participants will be competing in the County Quorn Family Cup on the day.  Good luck to all!  I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Boys 16&U Fast 4 Competition – Sunday 22nd September 10.30-2pm:

This Sunday also sees the introduction of our first ever Fast 4 competition against 3 other clubs in the boys 16&U league.  Sydenham, Old Wilsonians and Meopham will be sending 2 boys each to compete against our boys 16&U team.  Just to confirm I will need 4 courts for the competition to take place which Kent LTA have asked us to host.  This is the first time this type of competition has taken place in the junior leagues so we are very excited to see how it goes.  If you are around to pop in to support the boys please do so.

Many thanks, Club Captain Phil Layfield
