LED LIGHT INSTALLATION

The installation of the new LED lights on courts 3, 4, 5 and 6 is now complete. Thank you everyone for your patience. It’s been a marathon exercise of planning, obtaining permission and then of course the huge cost. However we know come the Autumn and Winter they will make such a huge difference.

PICKLEBALL TASTER SESSIONS IN JULY  – Adults Only
 
We have arranged two Pickleball Taster sessions;
Friday 10th July from 12noon to 2pm.
Saturday 18th July from 1.30pm – 3.30pm.
We are asking you to book, just so we can gage numbers, however if you find yourself free on the day and decide to just turn up, that’s okay too! The booking link is in todays email to members.

MINI WIMBLEDON 

Wow what a great evening was had by our juniors, lots of tennis, lots of burgers and lots of colouring in! We hope everyone enjoyed the evening and going by the fact all the food disappeared and all the medals were given out, we think the event was a huge success! Thanks to the Social Committee for arranging the event, especially to Kelly, Paul, Anthony, Simon, Katy and Jo. Same time next year we think?

INTERNAL SINGLES 

Definitely a hot day for the singles this year! It was great to see so many new members entering the competition. Well done everyone for playing in the hot and sticky conditions.

NK CUP MATCHES

Women’s Singles – Well done Romane Pepion who won against Meopham in the Semi Finals 6-2, 6-4. Onto the Finals now, which will take place on Sunday 26th July.

Ladies Doubles vs Blackheath on Friday 10th July at 6pm. If you have a bit of time to pop down and cheer on Ros McKeown and Lauren Esler they would appreciate a cheer squad.

Ladies Vets Doubles – Saturday 11th July at 5pm at home will see Maria Perfect and Kate Hands play in their Semi Final.

Men’s Doubles – Semi Final is yet to be arranged, but will see Tom Warburton and Sam Morgan represent the club.

MEDWAY OPEN

Maria Perfect and Ashling Carroll represented the club in the quarter finals on Friday evening, winning 6-3, 6-2. Well done ladies, onto the next round.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

We may still run further events to watch the football, as they have been so successful, just depends on the timing of the matches.

We are also looking at which Wimbledon Games we can show on the big screen as well. So keep an eye on the socials for further details.

SUMMER  TEAM RESULTS

Please take care everyone this coming week is suggesting very high temperatures again. So lots of water, hats and sunscreen are in order.

NORTH KENT

O60’s Men beat a very strong Blackheath side, 6-2. Thanks for the photo gents. The team playing were Rob Thomas, Greg Gadd, Hessam Koshnevisan and Martin Roberts.

Ladies 2 beat Blackheath 1 Away, by 7-0. The last set was unfinished. The team playing were Oksana Boklag, Charmaine Ooi, Romane Pepion and Lauren Esler.

KENT

Mixed 2 played really well against Ightham Away, but sadly lost 3-1 in the end. The team playing were Rob Thomas, Di Roberts, Simon Rowe and Carlotta Allen-Seadon. Carlotta stepped in at the very last minute and did a sterling job, well done and thank you. Fab picture too of all of you.

Mixed 1 lost to David Lloyd Kings Hill 2 Away, they were a very strong team. The team playing were Mark Plonka, Olivia Flynn, Jason Barkworth & Bryoni Hunter Dawson.
