Phil Layfield is in charge of organising a team of 3 full time coaches, 3 part time coaches and a team of 10+ tennis leaders to level 1 coaches to help deliver an extensive junior and adult coaching programme to members of the club. Phil is also responsible for developing links with local primary and secondary schools, as well as the local 6th form and university. Phil runs the weekly junior competitions held on Friday evenings, as well as any held during the school holidays. Phil and his team help organise all the junior teams (8&U – 18&U) in the local Team Tennis Kent leagues.
Phil also organises the coaching team to run the annual club tournaments and finals day as well as our monthly adult American Tournament (fun adult doubles). Phil also helps to organise any LTA initiatives from GBTW’s to Tennis 4 Kids. On top of this Phil runs the yearly 14&U Boys and Girls Road to Wimbledon, as well as the Quorn Family Cup.

Luke House, is an LTA qualified and licensed level 4 coach. Luke is first aid trained and DBS checked. Luke started at the club as an aspiring junior player and has progressed through the coaching qualifications to become an integral part of the coaching team, working with our junior players from 5 to 18 years old. Luke also coaches many of our adult coaching sessions, including Monday night team drills, Thursday night adult group coaching and Friday morning ladies coaching.
Luke is coaching in several primary and secondary schools within the local area strengthening links with the club. Luke is also a qualified LTA tutor and delivers the tennis leaders course, level 1 and level 2 awards and is vital in developing the next group of coaches to work at the club. Luke captains the men’s 1st team in North Kent and the men’s 1st team in the Aegon leagues, regularly playing in the singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles leagues. Finally, Luke organises all our NK Cup teams throughout the year.

Please may all parents remember that they are responsible for the care of their children who are not in lessons at the club. Obviously the coaching team will take care of any children during the sessions, but will not be responsible for any siblings left on site.
