EARLYBIRD MEMBERSHIP STARTS TODAY

Early Bird membership starts today, this gives adults a £10 reduction and juniors a £5 reduction if you join before 1.4.26. Please be patient with Caroline and Frances during this busy time of year, they will process your membership as fast as they can! A change for this year is you will pay online at the time of filling in your membership form, which should speed up the process.

If you are a team member don’t forget to renew your membership before your first game of the Summer Season!

FRIDAY 20TH MARCH – DROP IN SOCIAL

Rob & Jo Thomas will be organising the Drop in Social this Friday evening. They will have the members bar open and have also offered to go and collect fish & chips for anyone that wishes to join them in a fish supper. Just let them know upon arrival if you wish to take part in the fish & chips.

TEAM OPEN EVENING – 24th March

Would you like to join one of our teams that compete in Kent, North Kent Leagues & National Leagues. An open evening will be held on Tuesday 24th March from 7-9pm. Head Coach Tom is organising the session with the Team Captains. It will all be doubles play. You will get the chance to mix in with the Captains, and potentially join one of the squads for the next season. An invite to register your attendance for the open evening was sent out to members last week.

JUNIOR EASTER EGGS-TRAVAGANZA – 28TH MARCH

The new Social Event planning group have planned an Eggs-travaganza of an event for Saturday 28th March. Starting at 5pm there will be Easter Themed craft activities in the club house, available for everyone to create. The artwork will then be used to decorate the club house for Easter.

An Easter Egg Hunt will take place. we will have two age groups – 6 and under will take place first, followed by the 7-14 year olds. There will be a £2 fee to take part in this eggs-citing hunt, booking is recommended so we can gage numbers, and to let the Easter Bunny know what he needs to provide.

The tennis tournament will take place from 5-6pm. Each junior will be partnered up randomly on the day and play for 20mins per game. From 6pm parents can join in too. To play in this you will need to register both the junior and parent wishing to join in at a cost of £3 per junior, parents play free of charge. Parents will be expected to stay with their child during the event.

LED LIGHTS ON COURTS 3-6 – April we hope

We have now been advised that April has been scheduled for new LED lights on court 3-6, subject to final signing off by Greenwich’s planning department. This process is still on going, we will keep you updated.

Saturday 21st March Kent Mixed 1 play Kemsing in the Mixed Doubles Division 4 final. This will be at Kemsing and will start at 10.30am

Saturday 21st March Kent Mixed 2 play Chipstead Place 1 in the Mixed Doubles Division 6 final. This will be at Shooters Hill starting at 1.30pm

WINTER TEAM RESULTS

Kent Ladies Final

Shooters won their play off final on Saturday against Margate 3. Some great tennis battles in the sunshine. Well played Ruthie Frost, Tracy Davy, Caroline Maponda and captain Libby Tuson. This is back to back winter league promotions for this team, so well done to all of the ladies who have paled in this team over the winter.

Kent

Over 60’s Men were equal 2-2 on rubbers but lost 5-4 on sets to Blackheath Away. Team playing were Rob Thomas, Richard Kershaw, Greg Gadd and Jon Beaumont.

Over 60’s men won against Bearstead, who are the league winners. We then had lunch outside in the sunshine. The team playing were Greg Gadd, Richard Kershaw, Hessam Khoshnevisan and Rob Thomas. Thanks for the photo.
