BBQ TO CELEBRATE TOM AND HANNAH’S MARRIAGE
This proved to be a great success (helped by there being no rain), such a lovely way to Celebrate Tom & Hannah’s wedding. Many members adults and families came, whether it was for a drink, the BBQ or just to play in the social tennis. It was a lovely evening and thank you to all who turned up. PRO RATA MEMBERSHIP
The September Pro Rata Membership Rate starts today. So those Juniors who joined in the Summer Camps and now want to take lessons during term time, please remember you need to become a member. You can take advantage of the Pro Rata Rate.
Completing membership forms now got easier, we have had the website improved so you now pay at the same time you complete your form. There may be some teething problems but if so please email secretary@shltc.info so they can be addressed.
COACHING STARTS
Members can book for the coaching courses which start on Monday 8th September. Any non junior members that took part in the Summer Programme are very welcome to book onto the term time courses, but you will need to join as a member first.

MEN’S AND LADIES CHANGING ROOM
The shower in the men’s is now working, thanks to John and Dave managing to get the tree roots out.
You may have noticed the new Lino in finally down in the ladies toilet, just needs a little sealant around the edges, but otherwise its almost done. The mirror is back on the wall in the men’s. The holes in the walls have been filled and the tiles will be going back up today. Painting, grouting and sealant will happen over the coming week fingers crossed, so then the men’s floor can finally be laid. Thanks everyone for your patience, we are almost done, its been quite a marathon task! If you see my brother Gareth around the clubhouse this week, please do say thank you, he’s done all this work voluntarily in his own time and doesn’t even play tennis!! So although the plumbing work has been carried out by Guy, most of the other work has been carried out by Gareth.
TREE POLLARDING – THURSDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER
A number of trees around the tennis courts have become in need of pollarding (cutting back) to improve the tree’s overall health. This will be taking place on Thursday 4th September, so some courts will be shut for safety reasons during the day according to where the tree surgeons will be working. So if your booking a court, please be aware of this during the day.
COURTS 3 & 4 CLEANING & REPAINTING – FRIDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER
The courts 3 & 4 have been now been cleaned. They will be re-painted this Friday (weather permitting), this means they will need closed for 5 days afterwards to ensure the lines dry and remain in good condition. So please don’t enter those courts.
KENT FINALS WEEKEND
We want to wish all our players good luck for the finals matches this coming weekend. Please do come along and watch, support and cheer our teams, we know they would appreciate it, especially as we are hosting at home for the matches.
