OCTOBER HALF TERM JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAMME

Its not to late to book for the Half Term programme this week. Details are on Tom’s page, please find the link below. The sessions will be running from today to – Wednesday 28th October. As always you can book one day, or all three. Other junior friends and family are able to book a holiday course without being a member. Please do remember to wrap up warm in layers, bring a water bottle as well as food and perhaps a waterproof jacket just in case!!

AGM FOR CLUB ON MONDAY 10TH NOVEMBER AT 8PM IN THE CLUB HOUSE

All the details went out last week for the AGM. It is now too late to send in any proposals. Hope to see as many members there as possible as we discuss the way forward for the club. Remember it is your club and we need to know your thoughts.

SHOOTERS HILL ANNUAL JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

The Club’s Junior Competition will take place this coming Thursday 30th and Friday 31st October. Juniors members will receive an email explaining how to enter.

QUEEN’S MEMORIAL CUP AS AMERICAN  TOURNAMENT – 26TH OCTOBER

A very successful event with many new members attending and the weather just held off. The winner was Kate Newham and she was presented with her trophy by Jason Barkworth. Hope you like the photo

Saturday 20th December – 10.30 – Father Christmas will visit the Tennis Club

Saturday 28th February 2026 – Club’s annual presentation at the Golf club for Juniors and Adults.

PRO RATA MEMBERSHIP

September Pro Rata Membership Rate for the remainder of the membership year (31st March 2026). Juniors who joined in the Summer Camps and now want to take lessons during term time, please remember you need to become a member if on the coaching programme. You can take advantage of the Pro Rata Rate.

Completing membership forms has now got easier and I am pleased to report new memberships are coming in. We have had the website improved so you now pay at the same time you complete your form. There may be some teething problems but if so please email secretary@shltc.info so they can be addressed.

WINTER TEAM RESULTS

North Kent

Mid Week Vets 2 drew against Bexleyheath 1 Away last Wednesday. The team playing were Rob Thomas, Libby Tuson, Aaron Ruby & Tracy Davy.
Men’s 5 lost 0 – 4 to a very strong David Lloyd Beckenham 2  team at Home. The team playing were Neal Tuson, Aaron Ruby, Stephen Collins and Rob Thomas.
Men’s 2 had a victory over David Lloyd Dartford 1 at Home. It was very close, 3-1 on rubbers. The team playing were Mark Plonka, Will Leney, Francesco Donadio and Jan Are Mo. Francesco & Jan battled through no less than 4 tie breaks, of which they won 3. Big thanks to the Jack, Jo and Rib cheer squad too.
Ladies 3 lost 0 – 4 to Sundridge Park 5 Away. Great Tennis and hard fought to the end. The team playing were Libby Tuson, Tracy Davy, Stacey Yeh and Lasyk Grice. Thanks for the photo ladies.

Kent

Men’s 1 lost to a very strong Margate 1 Team at Home on Sunday. The team playing were Shannon Dilges, Lee Cao, Will Leney and Alex Todd.
Men’s Vets lost by one set to Gravesham 1 at Home. The team playing were Martin Roberts, Rob Thomas, Neal Tuson and Aaron Ruby.
