NK CUP MATCH – TUESDAY 21ST APRIL

Good luck to David Harrild and Mark Plonka on Tuesday who are playing in a NK Cup Match at home at 7pm. I am sure they would appreciate a cheer squad on the decking if you have time to pop in and support them.

INTERNAL MIXED DOUBLES – Sunday 3rd May

The internal competition is all day on Sunday 3rd May, entry closes on the 26th April at midnight. To enter you must be available all day on the 3rd May from 9am and on Finals day Sunday 19th July. The competition will be Fast 4 Format, with a round robin stage and then split into Main and Plate draws. The link to enter is being re-sent today.  If you don’t have a doubles partner, do email and let us know as we may be able to put you in touch with someone else without a partner. Do join in it is a fun day.

FAMILY SATURDAY NIGHT SOCIAL TENNIS

We’re excited to introduce a new family social. Sessions will run on Saturdays from 18:30 – 20:30, using courts 1 and 2. Open to juniors 11+ (secondary school age) playing with yellow balls. This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy some relaxed, social tennis together.
Bookings can be made via Clubspark using the parent account (please include the junior in the booking), the link will be sent each Monday just like the adult social. Adult Family Members are welcome to play (including parent only members), but it’s not essential, making the session flexible and inclusive for all. However the family member bringing the junior must stay at the club during the session, if they choose not to play.
Spaces will be limited to ensure everyone gets plenty of time on court, so we recommend booking early once sessions go live each Monday. We’ll have light organisation in place to help matches run smoothly and keep things enjoyable for everyone.

QUIZ NIGHT – Friday 8th May

Still time to enter Quiz Night. There is also a Bake Off Competition and Wine Tasting as well. You can gather 5 friends to enter as a team of six at a cost of £12, or you can enter as an individual at £2, then you will be put into a team on the night. One member of each team can enter the Bake Off, so choose your baker wisely! Also on the evening you can take part in a Wine tasting at £4 per glass, payable on the night at the bar. There will be a variety of prizes during the evening too. We look forward to seeing all you there. The link to book and/or QR code will be attached to todays news email.

LED LIGHTS ON COURTS 3-6 – UPDATE

This process is still ongoing and sadly won’t be done in early April as originally planned. We have now displayed the paperwork again regarding the planning as instructed by the Council. Fingers crossed we are edging towards good news we hope. We have now been advised by the lighting company that we are in the schedule for June/July, subject to final signing off by Greenwich’s planning department.

FULL MEMBERSHIP

Please remember it can take up to 48 hours to process your membership even if you have been a member before. This depends on the time of day you apply. If you have not re-newed your membership, you are now locked out of court bookings and lessons.

 Juniors you MUST renew your membership if you wish to book onto this terms lessons.

Team members don’t forget to renew your membership before your first game of the Summer Season!

SUMMER  TEAM RESULTS

KENT

Mixed 1 lost to Margate at Home on Saturday. The team playing were Mark Plonka, Charmaine Ooi, Lauren Esler and Francesco Donadio.

NORTH KENT

Over 60’s Vets beat Blackheath at Home 8-0, which is a fantastic result. The team playing were Greg Gadd & Rob Thomas and Jon Beaumont & Hessam Khoshnevisan. Thanks for a great photo.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Men’s A  lost 1-5 to Canterbury 1 at Home on Sunday. Our team battled courageously through several tie breaks. The team playing were Myan Roberts, Fin Renwick, Sam Morgan and Tom Warburton.

Men’s B lost 2-4 against Bromley Sports Club 1 Away on Sunday. The team playing were Mark Plonka, Jan Are Mo, Jason Barkworth and Nick Leach.

Ladies won against Bromley Wendover 1 at Home on Sunday, 10-2. Well done Maria Perfect, Romane Pepion, Ros McKeown and Oksana Boklag. Thanks for the photo ladies.
