QUIZ NIGHT

What a wonderful evening, well done to the Social Committee, especially Lorraine and Andrew. Please pass on our thanks to Quiz Master Jack, who did an incredible job. 6 Teams battled it out, all whilst tasting a variety of wines and cakes! Congratulations to Jenna who won star baker. Not exactly sure there was a wine of the night, think everyone enjoyed them all!! Thank you Stacey for fabulous photos of the evening, I will add them to a folder on facebook for people to see, I just put some of the delicious cake photos on here to make us all hungry for cake!

INTERNAL DOUBLES  SUNDAY JUNE 7TH -all day

Please get you partners ready to enter the doubles day on first Sunday in June, all day. The link was emailed out last week. Entry is through the LTA portal so the closing date will be final. Men’s Singles

Richard Fay played so well, in what was a super tight match,  however lost a championship tie break to result in 8-10 in the Men’s Singles against Sidcup Rec. Rich wanted to say thank you to Maria, Jo and Carol for being the cheer squad watching on the day.

Ladies Vets Doubles

Will see Maria Perfect and Kate Hands take on Catford Wanderers away at 6.45pm. A cheer squad always welcome to come and support.

Ladies Singles

Romane Pepion represent Shooters Hill on Saturday 23rd May at 5pm, at home. So please do come along and support her.

FAMILY SATURDAY NIGHT SOCIAL TENNIS

Don’t forget the new Family Saturday Social Play Sessions from 18:30 – 20:30 each week. Using courts 1 and 2. Open to juniors 11+ (secondary school age) playing with yellow balls. This is a great opportunity for families to enjoy some relaxed, social tennis together. For further information see the Family Social Play Tennis email sent out on Mondays, with the link to book.

LED LIGHTS ON COURTS 3-6 – Yay SUCCESS at Last

Celebrating the Good News, the Council have agreed the planning permission for the New Lights! We have been advised by the lighting company that we are in the schedule for June/July, once the date is finalised we will let all members know.

SUMMER  TEAM RESULTS

KENT

O45 had a nail biter of a game against a very strong Brenchley & Matfield team. They were 2-2 on rubbers, however we had 5-4 on sets, so stole the win. The team playing was Aaron Ruby, Neal Tuson, James Shenton and Rob Thomas. Big shout out to James, as it was his second only doubles match. Thanks for the picture as well gents.

Mixed 1 are pleased to report a win over Park Langley 2 Away on Saturday, with a 3-1 victory, after winning 2 of the 3 championship tie breaks. The team playing was Mark Plonka, Romane Pepion, Lee Cao and Olivia Flynn.

Ladies 1 on 3-1 over Freedom Leisure Home in glorious sunshine on Saturday. Seems the weekend of high volumes of championship tie breaks across all our teams, with the team winning two during their match. The team playing were Ruthie Frost, Marion Toural Hopkins, Caroline Maponda and Libby Tuson. Thank you for the photos ladies.

Ladies 2 lost 0-4 on Sunday to St Johns Away, again after lots of championship tiebreaker in the breaks. Really windy conditions to play in on Sunday too. The team playing were Jo Thomas, Stacey Yeh, with Jenna Leas and Byroni Hunter Dawson making their debuts.

NORTH KENT

Men’s 2 won away against Oakwood 2, with a result of 3-9. The acting Captain was Mark Plonka, the team joining him were Will Leney, Spencer Smyth, Jason Barkworth, Jack Andrews and Jan Are Mo.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Men’s A won in a shoot out against Avenue at Home. It was 2-2 after singles, 3-3 after doubles, 1-1 after singles tie breaks. We finally won after doubles tie break. Huge effort everyone, well played. The courageous team playing were Fin Renwick, Tom Warburton, Alex Todd and Rich Fay.

Ladies took and and beat Sydenham 1 Away on Sunday. The team playing were Kate Hands, Romane Pepion, Lauren Esler and Charmaine Ooi.

YOUTH LEAGUE

U10 Boys lost to Twist Fizz, 2-4. Pair playing were Roland & Iancu.

U14 Girls won 6-0 against Sidcup Rec. The pair playing were Sara & Isabelle.

U14 Boy’s lost to Bexleyheath 2-4, in a championship tiebreaker in the doubles. Pair playing were Sam & Henry.
