SHOOTERS HILL LTC CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES

This was a very successful day with 16 men’s pairs and 8 ladies. There were many close matches with many going to a championship tie break. Below are the members who are in the finals

UNVEILING PLAQUE ON BENCH FOR PHIL SMITH

During the doubles tournament Karen Smith and her daughter Olivia came to official unveil the plaque on a bench in remembrance of Phil Smith a well loved member. It was a lovely occasion. We hope you like the pictures below

CLUB MEN’S & WOMENS SINGLES ON SUNDAY 7TH JULY 

An email will be sent to members with the link for entry. You will need to be available all day on the 7th July and the club Finals Day on Sunday 21st July. Entries will need to be in by 30th June 10am.

WALKING TENNIS‍ SESSIONS

Want to play tennis still but at a slower pace, recovering from injury or are you a complete beginner wanting a bit more time and practice in a supportive setting? Come and try Walking Tennis with us and bring a friend. It’s a slower game, where the ball can bounce twice, there is no jumping or running and you play with modified equipment. Sessions are on Tuesdays at 12noon till 13.00. £3 for members and £5 for non members. Go to Tom’s page on Clubspark to book a place:

SUMMER TEAM NEWS & RESULTS

Good Luck to all our teams playing in their matches this coming week, lots of sunshine and showers.

North Kent Cup

Thursday 13th June we will host the Ladies Singles vs Bromley Wendover at 7pm.  Natalie Ali  will be playing, so please come along and support her.

Thursday 1st July we will host the Ladies Doubles at 7.30pm which will see Oksana Boklag & Ros McKeown play.

Thursday 6th July we will host the Ladies Vets Doubles at 4.30pm which will see Maria Perfect & Karen Attard play.

North Kent

Ladies 2 lost 1.5-2.5 against Willets Rec 1 Away. It was so close to a draw. The team playing were Oksana Boklag, Ruthie Frost, Caroline Maponda and Tracy Davy.

Mid Week Vets 2 won 5/3 away against Meopham 1. Jo Thomas was acting Captain, the rest of the team playing were Dave Robertson, John Fielding and Alison Farrington. It was a tight match.

Mixed lost 2-6 away to  Sundridge Park 3 on Tuesday evening. The team playing were Mark Plonka, Oksana Boklag, Sam Morgan, Natalie Ali, Jan Are Mo and Maria Perfect.

Ladies 1 drew against Bexley 1 Away on Friday evening. The team playing were Natalie Ali, Karen Attard, Ros McKeown and Di Roberts.

Men’s 1 lost 9-3 (or 4.5-1.5 in the old scoring method) against Park Langley 1 Away on grass courts. The team playing were Milan Roberts, Max Saunders, Devanshu Jain, Joao Ribeiro and Arvind Bassi.

Men’s 2 beat Bromley Wendover 3 at Home. The team playing were Jan Are Mo, Iain Goosey, Sam Morgan and Alex Todd. Great effort team.

Kent

Mixed 1 drew away on grass against Tunbridge Wells 3. The team won two championship tie breaks, but lost on sets. Caroline Maponda made her debut playing for the team, along side her were Alberta Bosca, Mark Plonka and Devanshu Jain. Love the fact you stopped for a quick picture after the first championship tie break as well!
