JACK PETCHEY WINNER AUTUMN 2024

On Saturday we presented Samuel Brett with the next Jack Petchey award. ‘Samuel has been a long-term player at Shooters Hill and has consistently progressed through the levels of mini tennis to now being one of the older juniors at the club and still taking part in a weekly coaching session. He has shown great dedication to his tennis for a long time and has recently shown a great improvement in his playing level. Samuel embodies what is great about sticking to a skill and improving steadily through hard work.’ We hope you like the photo

NORTH WEST KENT PRESENTATION EVENING

A great night for the club, well done to all our teams. Our Ladies 2 Team did the double and are Winter 23 & Summer 24 Winners. The Men’s Over 60’s are Summer 24 Winners. And the Mixed Mid Week Vets 2 are the Winter 23 Winners. Thanks for the photo from those who attended the presentation evening last weekend.

OCTOBER HALF TERM HOLIDAY PROGRAMME

Half term is almost upon us, so don’t forget to book as Tom will be holding a coaching course from Wednesday 30th Oct – Friday 1st November. As always you can book for one day or all three, and you can bring along family & friends who are non-members. (Although if they then wish to access the term time coaching, they must become a member) Booking is now open, so don’t forget to book soon so you don’t miss out.

WINTER TEAMS 2024/25

Wow, definitely Autumnal weather this week, everything from sunshine to rain, lots of games got postponed over the weekend.

NORTH KENT

Mid Week Vets lost to a very strong Bromley Wendover 1 at Home on Friday. The team playing were Maria Perfect, Francesco Donadio, Ashling Carroll & Tony Millard.

Ladies 1 beat Sundridge Park 2 at Home. The team playing were Maria Perfect, Karen Attard, Ashling Carroll & Ros McKeown.

Men’s 4 vs David Lloyd Dartford 2 Away – postponed due to rain.

Ladies 2 vs Sydenham at Home – postponed due to rain.

KENT

Mixed 2 a narrow loss of 2-2 rubbers & 4-6 on sets against Bearstead 3 Away. The team playing is Jan Are Mo, Tracy Davy, Neal Tuson & Libby Tuson.

WALKING TENNIS‍ SESSIONS  

Want to play tennis still but at a slower pace, recovering from injury or are you a complete beginner wanting a bit more time and practice in a supportive setting? Come and try Walking Tennis with us and bring a friend. It’s a slower game, where the ball can bounce twice, there is no jumping or running and you play with modified equipment. Sessions are restarting on Tuesday 17th September at 12noon till 13.00. £3 for members and £5 for non members. Go to Tom’s page on Clubspark to book a place: Next session is Tuesday 5th November.
