🐣 JUNIOR CAMPS AT EASTER🐣

Tom and the Coaching team are running camps over the two week Easter School Break. You can book for a day or the whole week. Check our Tom’s coaching page on Clubspark to book your place. Don’t forget friends and family are welcome to play in the School Holidays even if they aren’t members, however would need to then join if they wish to take part in the term time coaching. Now fingers crossed this persistent spring rain stops and everyone can enjoy some Easter Tennis in the spring sunshine.

🐣AMERICAN TOURNAMENT EASTER SUNDAY 31ST MARCH

Lovely to see so many people enjoying Hot Cross Buns, as well as taking part in the Easter American Tournament. The winners of the American Tournament were Caroline Maponda and Shaafiek Christian, well done to you both. Thank you for the photo too.

🐤 EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTED MEMBERSHIP – IS NOW FINISHED

The ‘Early Bird‘ membership is now finished as of yesterday the 31st March. All categories’ are now full price!

Please be aware at this time, Caroline and Frances will be dealing with a vast number of membership forms and enquiries and will process them as quickly as possible. As it it Easter weekend and many people have put their forms in very near to the deadline 31.1.24 we are working through them as quickly as we can. Please bear with us. Any queries email secretary@shltc.info who will answer when she can.

HOW TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP

– Membership is renewed through OUR Website from the membership page, NOT the Clubspark or LTA website. Clubspark is only for lessons, court & social bookings!

-If already a member you will already have a username and password. You can reset the password yourself, however, if you have forgotten your user name please email secretary@shltc.info. You will be replied to ASAP but remember it can take a few days, with so many to process at this time. New members can join completing the form through the website.

-When completing the form please be aware that if you choose to NOT be on the emailing list you will not be kept updated with all that happens at the club, such as the links to Socials, Monthly American Tournaments or Kids/Adult Courses.  Therefore you will need to check the website regularly for the weekly news.  We only email about tennis club matters and your details would never be shared.

-Once you have completed the form (you must put something in every field) You will receive a confirmation email with BACS details. However the BACS details are in the RED BOX , top right hand corner of the form, so you can make a note of them at that point as well, before you submit the form. (Once you have submitted a form you will receive an email with payment details (check your junk)

-Once the form and payment is received, Adult Members & 13 and over Children will receive an email to access court booking which you need to follow if your wish to be able to book courts and book onto socials (please check your junk box). This may take a few days in busy periods. All members will receive This Years Coloured Tag and a Welcome Letter which explains what is available at the club. MYSTERY OF THE MOVING LADDERS

It seems some little fingers have taken to moving the information around on the Ladder Leagues Board, which is very frustrating for everyone involved in the League. If you do see little fingers playing with the board, could you please explain to them the importance of not moving the pieces! Everyone’s help is much appreciated, thank you.

FRIDAY NIGHT DROP IN SOCIALS

We hope everyone enjoyed the Friday night drop in socials trial during March. The directors will be discussing this in the next board meeting, we will keep you posted as to the outcome.

SUMMER TEAM NEWS & RESULTS

Good Luck to all our teams playing in the Summer Leagues that have now started, I hope all this Spring rain is not interrupting play.

North Kent

Men’s Mid Week Vets lost 0-4 to Oakwood last week. It seems that every game counts as Rob has worked out that by 0.7% SHLTC have remained in 4th position in the League, thanks for Maths Rob! 😊 The team playing were Greg Gadd, John Fielding, Chris Clegg and Dave Jenkins.

QUIZ NIGHT – FRIDAY 19TH APRIL – 7PM ONWARDS

Save the date!  The club will be having another quiz night on Friday 19th April starting at 7pm. The bar will be open and our head coach Tom will be quiz master! Prizes for the winning team!  The cost of entry is £2 per person and there is a maximum of 6 in a team. All proceeds will be donated to Children with Cancer UK, Tom’s chosen charity that he is raising money for in the lead up to the London Marathon on 21st April 2024.  The sign-up sheet is now in the clubhouse just inside the door to the left. Look forward to seeing everyone there.
