🐣 JUNIOR CAMPS AT EASTER🐣

Its almost the school holidays, Tom and the Coaching team are running camps over the two week Easter School Break. You can book for a day or the whole week. Check our Tom’s coaching page on Clubspark to book your place. Don’t forget friends and family are welcome to play in the School Holidays even if they aren’t members, however would need to then join if they wish to take part in the term time coaching.

🐣AMERICAN TOURNAMENT EASTER SUNDAY 31ST MARCH

This months American Tournament will take place on Easter Sunday from 2-4 pm. The bar will be open and there will be Hot Cross Buns as well. Please check your email for the link.

🐤 EARLY BIRD DISCOUNTED MEMBERSHIP – HAVE YOU DONE YOURS YET?

The ‘Early Bird‘ membership is well underway, and we have processed lots of memberships already. Don’t forget the offer only runs until the 31.03.24.  To take advantage of the Early Bird membership reduction, your form/s must be completed and the money received by the 31st March, which is Sunday this week.

If you submit your membership forms from the 1st April, membership costs will be at Full Price.

Please be aware at this time, Caroline and Frances will be dealing with a vast number of membership forms and enquiries and will process them as quickly as possible. Any queries email secretary@shltc.info

HOW TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP

– Membership is renewed through OUR Website from the membership page, NOT the Clubspark or LTA website. Clubspark is only for lessons, court & social bookings!

-If already a member you will already have a username and password. You can reset the password yourself, however, if you have forgotten your user name please email secretary@shltc.info. You will be replied to ASAP but remember it can take a few days, with so many to process at this time. New members can join completing the form through the website.

-When completing the form please be aware that if you choose to NOT be on the emailing list you will not be kept updated with all that happens at the club, such as the links to Socials, Monthly American Tournaments or Kids/Adult Courses.  Therefore you will need to check the website regularly for the weekly news.  We only email about tennis club matters and your details would never be shared.

-Once you have completed the form (you must put something in every field) You will receive a confirmation email with BACS details. However the BACS details are in the RED BOX , top right hand corner of the form, so you can make a note of them at that point as well, before you submit the form. (Once you have submitted a form you will receive an email with payment details (check your junk)

-Once the form and payment is received, Adult Members & 13 and over Children will receive an email to access court booking which you need to follow if your wish to be able to book courts and book onto socials (please check your junk box). This may take a few days in busy periods. All members will receive This Years Coloured Tag and a Welcome Letter which explains what is available at the club. KENT MIXED 1 TEAM – SATURDAY 23RD MARCH at 13.30

Kent Mixed 1 lost to Tonbridge in the play off final. Team was Matt and Maria Perfect, Diana Roberts and Francesco Donadio. They will be promoted though. Congratulations to all the players.

SUMMER TEAM NEWS & RESULTS

Good Luck to all our teams playing in the Summer Leagues that kicked of yesterday.

North Kent

Ladies 1 beat Bexley 1 at home, 3.5-0.5. Well done ladies. The team playing were Simone, Natalie Ali, Maria Perfect & Karen Attard.

Ladies 2 won against Park Langley 3 at home, 4-0. Amazing start ladies. The team playing were Ros McKeown, Marion Tourral-Hopkins, Tracy Davy & Ruthie Frost.

Men’s 2 v Ladywell Fields 1. Result to follow after time ran out in the 2nd round. Team were Iain Goosey, Joao Ribeiro, Francesco Donadio, Mark Plonka, Ricardo Pinheiro and Jan Mo.

Kent

Men’s 4 won 2-2 away against Crescent 4. A great start to the season, well played. The team playing were Abel Coolen, Chris Lore, Sam Crooks & Fred Moreau.

QUIZ NIGHT – FRIDAY 19TH APRIL – 7PM ONWARDS

Save the date!  The club will be having another quiz night on Friday 19th April starting at 7pm. The bar will be open and our head coach Tom will be quiz master! Prizes for the winning team!  The cost of entry is £2 per person and there is a maximum of 6 in a team. All proceeds will be donated to Children with Cancer UK, Tom’s chosen charity that he is raising money for in the lead up to the London Marathon on 21st April 2024.  To sign up there will be a sign-up sheet in the clubhouse soon. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

TRIAL ‘DROP IN’ FRIDAY SOCIAL SESSIONS DURING MARCH

Don’t forget this weeks Social Drop in Session on Friday, just pop along and join in. Members can just turn up on the night and give their names to Ron & Julie Cooper. They will then arrange for everyone to mix in according to the numbers on the night. Please be aware that only 3 courts are  booked so if more people attend members will need to rotate around on the 3 courts booked.
