QUIZ NIGHT – FRIDAY 19TH APRIL – 7PM ONWARDS
The club will be having another quiz night on Friday 19th April starting at 7pm, there is still time to sign up. Our head coach Tom will be quiz master! Prizes for the winning team! The cost of entry is £2 per person and there is a maximum of 6 in a team. All proceeds will be donated to Children with Cancer UK, Tom’s chosen charity that he is raising money for in the lead up to the London Marathon on 21st April 2024. The sign-up sheet is now in the clubhouse just inside the door to the left on the noticeboard, don’t forget to give your team a name! Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Please be aware at this time of year, Caroline and Frances will be dealing with a vast number of membership forms and enquiries and will process them as quickly as possible. Please bear with us, they are working as quickly as they can. Any queries email secretary@shltc.info who will answer when she can.

A link will be sent out today to all members to book this. Closing date is Wednesday 1st May 10am. Please ensure if you enter you are available for finals day Sunday 21st July.
HOW TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP
– Membership is renewed through OUR Website from the membership page, NOT the Clubspark or LTA website. Clubspark is only for lessons, court & social bookings!
-If already a member you will already have a username and password. You can reset the password yourself, however, if you have forgotten your user name please email secretary@shltc.info. You will be replied to ASAP but remember it can take a few days, with so many to process at this time. New members can join completing the form through the website.
-When completing the form please be aware that if you choose to NOT be on the emailing list you will not be kept updated with all that happens at the club, such as the links to Socials, Monthly American Tournaments or Kids/Adult Courses. Therefore you will need to check the website regularly for the weekly news. We only email about tennis club matters and your details would never be shared.
-Once you have completed the form (you must put something in every field) You will receive a confirmation email with BACS details. However the BACS details are in the RED BOX , top right hand corner of the form, so you can make a note of them at that point as well, before you submit the form. (Once you have submitted a form you will receive an email with payment details (check your junk)
-Once the form and payment is received, Adult Members & 13 and over Children will receive an email to access court booking which you need to follow if your wish to be able to book courts and book onto socials (please check your junk box). This may take a few days in busy periods. All members will receive This Years Coloured Tag and a Welcome Letter which explains what is available at the club. Men’s 1 lost to Bromley Wendover 2 Away. Team was Fin R, Sam M, Alex T and Francesco D
Mixed 2 lost to Herne Bay 2 Away 1-3. We lost 2 championship tie breaks. Team was Jan Are Mo, Libby Tuson, Rob and Jo Thomas. Congratulation to Jo on her return to competitive tennis
Men’s 2 beat Gravesham 1 Away 4-0. Team was Alex Todd, Joao Ribeiro, Mark Plonka and Jack Andrews
North Kent
Mid Week Vets 1 beat Bromley Wendover 1 Away. Team was Maria P, Karen A, Mark P and Tony M.
Ladies 1 beat Park Langley 1 at Home. Team was Maria P, Karen A, Simone K and Natalie A. A great win.
Mixed 1 just lost to Dartford David Lloyd 1 at home. Team was Jan Mo, Karen Attard, Tony Millard, Ashling Carroll, Samuel Morgan and Maria Perfect.
NORTH KENT CUP
The first round of the NK Cup started this week with Francesco Donadio and Mark Plonka taking on a pair from Blackheath Tennis club in the Men’s Vets doubles competition. It was quite a thrilling match to watch, so close all the way, a hard fought win by Francesco and Mark, in three sets 7-5, 2-6 and 1-0 (11-9). Awesome result in the first round guys, well done. 🎾👏
We also played Oakwood in the first round of the NK cup Men’s singles. Gregoire Lucas represented Shooters Hill and beat them 6-0, 6-0. Well done Greg.
Both of these teams will now go on into the quarter final rounds to be played by the 2nd June.
