NEW FLOOD LIGHTS – COURTS 1 AND 2 CLOSED
The Lighting Company are coming from TODAY till the 4th December to install the new style, more economical and environmentally friendly floodlights. Therefore courts 1 and 2 will be out of action whilst the work is carried out. We are really looking forward to having these installed and we are the first Club in the Country to have these new type of lights. We would hope to be able to have these then installed on the other courts, depending on how these perform and subject to obtaining further planning permission.
INTRODUCTION OF OUR NEW COACH – YONAS
Yonas has been with us a few weeks now and I am sure he was met many of you, but we thought it was time to give a formal introduction & welcome him to the Club! So he’s a little introduction to Yonas in his own words.
‘I’ve been a Fully Accredited Level 2 Instructor for 3 years and I am currently training for my Level 3 Coach qualification (due to be finished in February 2025) Before working at Shooters Hill, I spent a year at the Globe Lawn Tennis Club in Belsize Park where I coached (part-time) many red, orange and yellow players. My last full-time job was working with SEND students at a secondary school in Colindale, North London, where I was for two years. At University, I played BUCS Tennis and coached performance squads, whilst studying History. I am an avid fab of the professional ATP circuit, I keep up-to-date with tournaments and the latest technical and tactical developments. I specialise in helping to improve players serves and improving their psychological resilience. My favourite professional player since 2019 has been Jannik Sinner.’
